Luol Deng, a South Sudanese-British former NBA All-Star, has used his sports career to empower South Sudanese youth. He founded the Luol Deng Foundation in 2005, aiming to create opportunities through basketball. Deng also serves as president of the South Sudanese Basketball Federation, leading the national team to historic Olympic qualifications in 2024. His advocacy focuses on changing the narrative of South Sudan through sport.
